“Looking for something different in Barcelona.”
“I normally stay in hotels but on this trip to Barcelona I wanted something different. I was not sure what I had booked but the friendly welcome made me feel right at home. Each room is different at the Zoo Rooms and the kitchen and living room area is great for relaxing and chatting with other guests. In the afternoon you could just chill on the massive terrace. If you are looking to be part of this great city not just another tourist this is the place to stay. Stayed for three nights and wish I had booked longer.”

“We stayed, a family with 2 children, for 4 nights. The place is a group of rooms (some communicating) connected by a common space (corridor and a lounge with sofa and a Mac PC). There's a fully equipped kitchen you can use. Outside a terrace with tables, sofa and hammocks (sooo good!) For everything else you will need, there's Andrea, a great connoisseur of the town. He will be happy to show you the best places, off the beaten path, to visit, eat, drink or buy something. We were totally satisfied of the accommodation and, of course, pleasurably hit by the beauty of Barcelona. We wish to come back soon.”

“Great Place to Come Back to.”
“Zoo Rooms combines a bit of the hostel experience (a full kitchen and common areas) with that of a boutique hotel (large, modern, individualized rooms). The location was excellent for me as it had a better balance between locals and tourists than some parts of the city. Gaudi works and other great architecture are nearby, and there is a plethora of great places to eat at all times of the day. The more heavily touristed areas are about a 20 minute walk or short walk and metro ride. My room was comfortable, quiet, and kept cool by the air conditioning. Staff were very friendly and helpful, and there is a very affordable laundry service available. I didn't use the common areas much, and they were often empty including the roof deck. Wi-fi was good although I kept having to sign in again. Everything was kept very clean. The bathroom was large and nice; some might be annoyed at how long it took for the hot water to come on in the shower. Overall, it is a great value. If I return to Barcelona, I'd come here again.”

“We loved our stay. The room was lovely and clean, comfortable and secure. The terrace was a perfect addition to the room and we loved spending time in the hammocks.To be able to use the fridge and the lounge area was also really useful.
We really enjoyed our stay at Zoo Rooms and found it to be very close to a lot of the main attractions with many nice bars and restaurants close by.
We would really recommend it, we stayed in the double room with the terrace.
There was generally someone around to help answer questions, give advice and help you if needed which we weren't expecting and it was such a bonus!! We would definitely return!! .”

“This is a boutique guesthouse in the heart of the Eixample district. Andrea immediately made us feel welcome and helped us get oriented to both the property and the city. The building is mixed-use, with both residential units and businesses, and is within walking distance of several major tourist attractions, shops, and many excellent eateries. Our room overlooked Mallorca Street, with a wine bar on the sidewalk below, but was not overly noisy given the thick windows and shutters. The back rooms face a large shared terrace off of a kitchen where each room has a designated bin/shelf in the refrigerator. Zoo Rooms is a fun alternative to a hotel and I would happily stay here again.”

“We loved staying 3 nights at this guesthouse! Great design to the rooms, kitchen, common area and especially the terrace. The artwork is great. I'm used to ikea everything in guesthouses and hostels. This was a pleasant change. It's in a fantastic neighborhood. Loads of great restaurants and bars. Ana was super helpful. The owner was really nice to chat with.”

“We were thrilled with this place! We took the room with the terrace, and it was the best! Best sleep I ever had in a hotel. The place has a very cool design, with awesome (and sometimes weird :P) wall paintings, everything was super clean and neat, the location was perfect (not too close to the center so it's not noisy but within a 15 minutes walk to Placa Catalunya, and 10 minutes walk to the metro station Passeig De Gracia (which is the central one - you can get anywhere from it), fast wifi, but the best of the best was the staff..they were SO NICE and SO HELPFUL! … gave us the best tips and suggestions, and basically all the info we need for a great trip (including where to eat\drink) And thank you Zoo Rooms for an awesome stay!”

“We stayed at zoo rooms with private bathroom and room for 3 people with private terrace access. The location is great. Things were convenient walking distance. Or if you're lazy or tired, theres buses to take too. The room was clean and comfortable. It is on the small side for 3 people but not bad. The price is good. Staff is super friendly and helpful. Very welcoming and upbeat. I would go back and I also would recommend to others. There is plenty of restaurants and bars nearby but at the same time area is quiet so that's a good thing. 24hour convenient store nearby in case you need anything. We did the hop on off bus tours and the center point is walking distance from zoo rooms. long walk but not too long. And las ramblas is nearby which was fun.”

Perfect stay in a good Location!
“We have recently spent 4 nights at Zoo Rooms (with young family and grandmother) and we all absolutely loved it! The guest house is stylish, while also feeling like home. The terrace is so spacious and such a pleasure to spend time in. I have never stayed anywhere so clean - and that's a big plus for me.
The staff were very helpful and accommodating - we changed our plans at the last minute and asked to stay an extra night which was no problem! They also stored our luggage and arranged taxis for us and were full of tips for eateries and tours.
We got to experience both the terrace and street side rooms due to our change of plans and all were fantastic. Our sleep wasn't disturbed by any noise (maybe due to all the wonderful tapas and mojitos!!)
We loved the location! Zoorooms is in a fantastic neighbourhood which felt very safe and had a lovely choice of restaurants and shops nearby.

“Onestamente, vista la differenza di prezzo con le alternative in zona avevo aspettative base per questa guest house. E ho dovuto ricredermi: stanze carine è sufficientemente spaziose, bagno privato ok, buon livello di pulizia. La posizione è fenomenale per gli amanti di Gaudì: a 10minuti a puedo da casa Batlò, 20 dalla Sagrada Familia. Andrea alla reception è gentilissimo e ultra disponibile. Terrazza super. Raccomandata!

This place is great. My friend and I stayed here for 3 nights while doing a big eurotrip and this was easily our favorite place. The rooms are nice, quiet and so centrally located it's crazy! On top of that, the staff was so helpful with tapas/bar recommendations and making sure we got in even though our flight was hours late!.

Fantastic guesthouse in fantastic area - we loved it!

Lovely staff - Great Location - Value for Money
“This is my second time in this well run place. The area is very convenient, walkable distance to Rambla de Catalunya, and close to public transport. The rooms are very "trendy" the decor is tasteful and the place is very clean, I particularly like the terrasse.
As I visited this place in winter I would recommend to add some portable heater in the rooms, when I asked the lovely receptionist provided one which was good. The staff is very friendly and all speak good english and give good indications on where to go (local bars, restaurants,and visits). If you are on a budget but also like quality, Zoo rooms is a good option as there is a kitchen with two big fridges, an oven, microwave etc...there are plenty shops around so it's great if you want to cook.
This big "apartment" is a great alternative to a hotel as it is more friendly, better value for money and convenient especially considering the location. A very high positive, merci beaucoup.”

Excellent Sejour
Nous avons passe un excellent sejour d'une semaine a Zoo Rooms. A notre arrivée, Steven et Anna nous ont accueilli chaleureusement et nous ont indique attractions, restaurants, bars, plages et tous les bons plans de Barcelone (coins touristiques et recommandations personelles).
Immeuble sécurisé dans un quartier calme idéalement situe au cœur de Barcelone, commerces et grands boulevards a moins de 10 minutes a pied.
Chambre climatisée spacieuse, propre avec coffre et fer a repasser disponible gratuitement.
Salle de bain (avec sèche-cheveux) extrêmement propre.
Cuisine, terrasse et salon (avec ordinateur) communs.
Acces wifi gratuit
Ideal pour couples et meme familles car les espaces communs sont si spacieux qu'il est possible de garder son indépendance.

Gemütliches Guesthouse
Das Guesthouse liegt relativ zentral im Bezirk Eixample. Wir hatten ein Terrassenzimmer, das sehr ruhig war. Am schönsten fanden wir, dass wir morgens auf der Terrasse frühstücken konnten und abends im T-Shirt Ende September noch lange draußen sitzen konnten. Wir haben uns morgens selbst versorgt, es gibt für jedes Zimmer ein Kühlschrankfach. In der Küche ist alles vorhanden, was man als Selbstversorger braucht. Man kann auch in das nahe gelegene "Brunch and cake" gehen, wo es hervorragendes Frühstück gibt. Man sollte allerdings früh da sein, weil es sonst lange Warteschlangen vor dem Restaurant gibt.
Die U-Bahn ist keine 5 min von Zoorooms entfernt. Man kann alle Sehenswürdigkeiten von dieser U-Bahnstation ( Carrer de Balmes) erreichen. Es empfiehlt sich , ein 10-Ticket zu nehmen, das Barcelona-Ticket ist , wie ich finde, zu teuer. Es lohnt sich nicht. Wenn man mit dem Flugzeug anreist, sollte man den Aerobus 1 (Terminal 1) bzw 2 (Terminal 2) nehmen, bis zum Plaza Catalunya fahren und dort in die Metro steigen. Man kann auch vorher an der Universität aussteigen und läuft, allerdings ist das mit Gepäck doch beschwerlich.
Anna an der Rezeption spricht fließend Englisch und ist sehr behilflich bei allen Fragen, die man hat.
Zoorooms können wir allen Individualisten empfehlen, die es lieber klein und gemütlich mögen. Kein Rummel, keine Hektik und doch zentral gelegen.

Удачное месторасположение
Проживали в этом гостевом доме 3 ночи,втроем (я ,муж и дочка).Для троих семейный номер маловат,к тому же выходит на шумную улицу ,так что заснуть проблематично.Но сам хостел очень уютный,чистый,есть большая терраса,общая кухня со всем необходимым.Смена полотенец,постельного белья и уборка-ежедневно.Особенно порадовало хорошее расположение отеля-10 минут пешком до пешеходной торговой улицы Rambla Catalunya,20 минут-до площади Catalunya,близко Дом Балльо.Очень помогла администратор русская девушка Анна,внимательная,все подробно рассказывает,ориентирует по городу.Очень ей благодарны.

Excelente ubicación, hermosa vista de la ciudad desde la habitación . La atención muy correcta y amena. Habitación impecable y completa. Todo el lugar consta de una higiene y limpieza muy buena! La cocina nueva muy cómoda y provista de electrodomesticos, vajilla , etc. Confortable sala de estar. El hotel es muy tranquilo. Un gran patio recreativo con plantas, aire puro y hamacas, Todo impecable! Quedamos muy satisfechas con todas las instalaciones, el lugar en general y con la atencion. Lo recomiendo totalmente, y en mi próximo viaje disfrutaré nuevamente ZooRooms. Muy recomendable.

Очень хороший мини отель в центре города. Рядом остановки, магазины и достопримечательности. Чисто, уютно. Есть кухня и тихая веранда во внутреннем дворике. Бесплатный wi-fi работает отлично. В номере есть сейф, фен, мини гладильная доска ( утюг на ресепшене), музыкальный проигрыватель, который подключается к айфону, телевизора нет. Доброжелательный персонал. Русская девушка Анна рассказала кратко о городе, показала основные остановки, помогла купить электронные билеты в музеи и распечатала их. Хорошее соотношение цены и качества.

Mycket bra boende och kanonservice mitt i Barcelona
Precis som ZooRooms hemsida beskriver så är det ett vandrarhem med hotellstandard. Ligger på andra våningen i ett äldre hus, rummen (ca 7 st?) är enkla men personligt och smart inredda. Allt är rent och snyggt, även köket som är välutrustat och med smart förvaring i kylen för varje rum. Terrassen är säkert underbar på sommaren (lite kallt när vi var där). Vi hade rum mot terrassen med egen utgång och eget bord utanför,
ZooRooms ligger centralt med gångavstånd till allt intressant i centrum. Det bästa skulle jag ändå säga var alla tips och rekommendationer från ägaren! Så vänligt mottagande och massor av tips på restauranger, hur man tar sig runt på bästa sätt, bra tips på hur man kunde se sevärdheter utan att behöva betala skjortan osv.
Rekommenderas varmt!
Tips för att välja rum: Rummen mot terrassen var tysta och hade egen utgång till terrassen via balkongdörr.

Un super adresse
L'accueil est vraiment très sympathique avec Steve qui vous donnera de bonnes adresses de bars ou de restaurants "not made for tourists". L'endroit est très calme, les chambres sur la terrasse sont très agréables, celle-ci est immense et les fins de soirée dans les hamacs sont un vrai havre de paix. Et cela dans une ambiance relax mais soignée, avec un joli effort sur la déco. Bref, il faut y aller sans hésitation. Les stations de métro sont assez proches pour se rendre facilement dans tous les quartiers de Barcelone... Une super adresse

Great Guest house
The Guesthouse hatte die perfekte location! wir wurden super herzlich empfangen und hatten nur 10 min zu fuss zu la ramblas. In der nähe findet man viele gemütliche restaurants, kaffes und bars die wir sehr gerne besucht haben. Obwohl man in einem Guesthouse ist, hat man nichts von den anderen im haus mitbekommen.
Ich würde immer wieder dort hin gehen! Kleiner Tipp: bei der Strasse gegenüber gibt es ein Sushi restaurant! das beste sushi das nich je gegessen habe!
